After watching her perform on SNL, and forcing myself to sit and listen to her album, I still have no idea what Lana Del Rey is about. But I will say this: aside from her obviously enhanced lips, she's stunning, and I think she should give up music and just model full time. Her music and "image" don't really do anything for me, but she's beautiful, and I think she has a look that's almost literally tailor-made for high fashion. I think I read somewhere that she's actually signed to an agency. If she doesn't make it in music, I think she could have a very lucrative career in fashion.

You may have heard, but the new online Instagram profiles are here. The layout is simple, but effective, and functions much the same way that it does on your smartphone. It's very basic, and is mostly a way to view your Instagram pictures online rather than to engage in the Instagram community the way you can in mobile format. I'd like to see an option to search for users come in future (unless it's already there and I've somehow missed it) and the ability to browse your newsfeed, but for now, it suffices. #Scandal: I Know That Olivia Pope Isn't Perfect; It's Part Of The Reason I Love Her

It irks me that people (usually black men) keep saying that black women shouldn't love Olivia Pope because she is flawed. "Flawed" in this case usually equals "having an affair with a white guy". They don't realize it, but the concentrated hate that they hold for her is steeped in a very specific kind of racialized misogyny . Walter White was no hero, but somehow we managed to love him. Dexter was a serial killer  and yet, we lauded him too. What do they have in common? You guessed it. Men. White  men. Who also happened to be anti-hero characters whose virtues were valued alongside their flaws. But I'm going to set that aside for now. I'm a black woman and I LOVE Scandal. I am not blind to Olivia's flaws.
