More Disney Remix! Artist Isaiah Stephens  re-imagined some of our favourite Disney princesses as ass kicking female superheroes. There's nothing I love more than Disney fan-art so this completely made my day. Above is Mulan as Xena, Warrior Princess (grew up on that show!) and after the jump, you can check out what he did with Princesses Aurora, Snow White, Ariel and Rapunzel. (Hint, Game of Thrones is involved!)  I absolutely adore Disney and I grew up with these princess, but obviously, as a feminist, I recognize how problematic so many of their stories are. I always love seeing them re-imagined as strong, willful women with more autonomy and drive. It's refreshing to be reminded that being a princess doesn't have to mean that you're helpless. There's almost nothing I like more than a good Disney remix , so naturally I swooned when I saw these. This time around, the lovely princess swap digs with their man friends, making for some really cute menswear approximate looks. My favourite ones so far are Tiana as Naveen (above), Belle as the Beast , Jane as Tarzaan , and Megara as Hercules . They're really great illustrations and a lot of fun. Artist Haruki Godo does a really great job of bringing a more original concept to the Disney fan art genre. Check out the rest of the series on his Deviant Art page.

The Read is the best podcast you're not listening to. Seriously. If you love Scandal and Beyonce, you NEED to be tuning in every week. Hosted by KidFury of Youtube fame, and his friend Crissle, The Read covers the week's most interesting pop culture events, fan advice letters, and one spectacular read each from the two hosts.  The show is as NWFW as it is deliciously enjoyable, but the slight taboos of dirty words and sex talk makes it that much more amazing. Kid Fury and Crissle tackle everything from relationship advice and racial politics, to Beyonce's haircut and Miley's cultural appropriation, and they do it with the intelligence and real world experience of people who know what they're talking about. My favourite thing about them is the fact that they aren't afraid to take on political issues and infuse them with their specific brand of humour and outrage. They know what they're doing, and they aren't about to slow down for ignorant folk who can...

You will have to take my word for it because this front page image is terrible and you can't read the caption, but MY PICTURE MADE IT ON THE FRONT PAGE TODAY! *runs around in circles screaming in excitement* Finally. Something is going well this month. I literally spent 2 hours (LITERALLY literally, not figuratively literally) walking around Port-of-Spain covering this story, so it feels good to have my work pay off. Woohoo! It was pretty cool too. A cement truck caught an overhead wire and pulled down three electricity poles and bent another, and the three poles fell on three separate cars because MURPHY'S LAW. Ah well. At least no one was seriously injured.

Arya Stark as a graffitti loving hipster via Moshi-Kun Do you love Game of Thrones, or do you LOVE Game of Thrones? While I haven't managed to catch up on this week's ( apparently tragic ) episode of #GoT yet, (Poor person with a basic cable budget, and a reporter's schedule. Judge me), these wonderful illustrations by Tokyo-based, French graphic designer, Mike Wroebel, are just enough to get me through another day of missing the epic-ness of the Red Wedding .  (And I accidentally glimpsed the lead-in to that article while I was pasting the link and now I know there was a massacre. via Real Men Swear It has happened! I have found my new favourite thing! Combining all the things I love most in this world: fashion, men and swearing (naturally), Real Men Swear  is a brilliant gem in a sea of tumblr mediocrity. If you'd ever thought that profanity elevated fashion , you were right! These amazing f-bomb laced delights are the perfect combination of condescension, hipster culture, and you-just-don't-get-fashion. I especially love the above Sartorialist GIF. If  rumors are to be believed , it might actually ring true! Oh the delight! Oh the schadenfreude!  The reason "bad words" delight me so, is because profanity has a certain ring and inherent character that cannot be replicated with even the most lofty vocabulary. Nothing packs as much punch as the word "fuck". Except maybe the word "cunt". But that is a story for another day entirely. Okay, so really this post is only about Natalie Dee , but name alone didn't make a very good title out of context. I used one of her comics in my birthday post  last month, and a lovely commenter on Jezebel directed me to the source. I spent a good chunk of time reading through her archives today, and I have to say that I love her. I love her minimal style, I love her sarcastic humor and I love the way she doesn't shy away from making fun of her daughters. I mean, that's a little mean I guess, but she did it first. But honestly, Dee's comics are a delight. They're light and on-their-face hilarious without trying too hard.
